When an interface calls for a very long list that needs to be quickly scannable, we enable a configuration in our table component to remove some white space and make the table more dense.
Typography that Respects Data
Enigma’s design system uses typographic features like tabular figures in areas where we display data values. We wouldn’t want to miss a decimal.
The Enigma Design System boosted product development by catering to all product squads' UX/UI needs. Its new componentized approach ensured consistent quality interfaces, speeding up iteration on the API Console and website.
Beyond a Component Library
We strived for Enigma’s design system to broadly cover how we make design decisions as a company. Like, how we evaluate data quality, translate business goals to information architecture, and evaluate our work. Along with input from designers and other team members, I established shared guidelines and best practices for participating in design reviews, presenting work to stakeholders, and giving valuable empowering feedback.
